Insufficient storage is one of the most commonly reported issues among many Android tablet users. At times, the tablet may run out of storage space for installing new apps or for storing photos and videos. Keeping a large number of apps and other files in the tablets are one of the reasons for running out of storage.

Even tablets that have large internet storage capacity sometimes suffer from this issue of insufficient storage space. This is mostly because of the accumulation of the cached files in the operating system. It will cause the tablet to display an “insufficient storage available” message. Below are some effective ways to solve the “insufficient storage available” error in Android tablets.

Uninstall Unnecessary Apps

Downloading and installing too many apps can cause the insufficient storage error to appear on your Android tablet. Uninstalling unnecessary apps is the best and most effective way to clear up space in your tablet and resolve the insufficient storage available error. For this, go to Settings > Apps and the select the apps that are not used for a longer period and those that you no longer need.

Select the app and tap on the Uninstall option to remove it from the tablet. It is also possible to uninstall the apps via the home screen or the app drawer. For this, simply tap and hold the app, and drag it to the top of the screen. An Uninstall icon will appear and dragging the app to this will remove the app from the device.

Clear Android Cache

The accumulation of too much cache files is another key reason for insufficient storage issue in Android tablets. The low storage space error can also appear even if the unnecessary apps are uninstalled from the device. Clearing the cache is another effective way to clear up the storage spaces in the tablets. For this, go to Settings > Apps, select an app and choose the Clear Cache option. This will clear the cache files of all the installed apps in the tablet thereby freeing up space.

Freeing Up Downloads Folder

All the downloaded files from the web are stored mostly in the Downloads folder and can take up storage space on the device. Deleting these unnecessary files is the best way to free up space. Navigate to the File Manager app on the device and delete the files from the Downloads folder that you no longer need. In addition, clear any of the send files of messaging apps such as WhatsApp by opening WhatsApp > Media > Images > Sent Folder and deleting all the files.
